Writers Workshop: Stories Within:
Over a series of sessions, students will develop their own
story/writing idea and take it through the stages of writing:
rewriting/brainstorming, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing.
Saturday Morning Storytellers:
This Bilingual (Spanish/English) Storytelling Club is ideal for bilingual
students and those enrolled in Dual Language. Through the the art of
storytelling using traditional, fractured, and invented stories, students
will have opportunities to have fun with language, increase
vocabulary, and build confidence.
Picture Book Playwrights:Dramatizing Children’s Literature
Students work together to adapt a multicultural children’s book and
make it their own with their one-of-a-kind script.
Thanksgiving Mini-Camp: iThank
The iThank Mini Camp will introduce the social problem
of hunger and its impact on kids across the globe
We will explore specific stories of kids who face this problem,
discuss concepts such as food insecure & food deserts, and learn about
solutions currently in place. We will work on a group project where
campers will come up with their own ideas to address this problem. We
will launch a solutions-based initiative based on the campers’ ideas
that will benefit kids who are hungry.
